Window Shutters in West London from Shutters Factory

West London is perceived as one of the poshest areas of London, with the wide-open spaces of Kew Gardens and Richmond Park, and the elegant townhouses of Hammersmith and Fulham. However, there is a lot more to this part of the capital. Here Shutters Factory, who supply and install a variety of window shutters to all types of properties in West London, look at the districts in more detail.

Brent

This North West London borough includes Kilburn, Willesden and Wembley. It is the home of the world-famous Wembley Stadium, home of the England football team. Like the neighbouring Wembley Arena, it also plays host to many different events, including pop concerts and other sports fixtures.

Property in the district is quite expensive. Areas such as Kenton, Northwick Park and Sudbury offer the best value for money. If you are interested in plantation shutters and live in Wembley, the Costco store in Second Way has a Shutters Factory stand. Drop in and have a chat to find out all about our range of shutter styles and quality service.

Ealing

More than 340,000 people live in this London borough, which includes the towns of Acton, Ealing itself, Greenford, Hanwell, Northolt, Perivale and Southall. The borough is known as ‘the Queen of the Suburbs’ because of its large number of parks and tree-lined streets. It is also synonymous with the British film industry, particularly comedies, and the studios in Ealing Green are still in use today for TV shows as well as movies.

Ealing has a mix of homes, built-up areas such as Acton have plenty of flats and terraced housing, while greener, more spacious parts of the borough mean larger detached properties, but higher asking prices.

Hammersmith and Fulham

This is an inner borough which has a population of around 185,000. It is famous for being home to three leading London football clubs, Chelsea, Fulham and Queen’s Park Rangers, as well as the Apollo Theatre, one of the capital’s leading venues for music and comedy.

It is one of the more expensive boroughs to live in, particularly the Edwardian and Victorian townhouses in Fulham and Parsons Green. However, the apartments springing up in and around Hammersmith and Shepherds Bush tend to be more affordable. If you are interested in shutters and are from the Fulham area, then we have a showroom at 148 Wandsworth Bridge Road.

Harrow

Most people associate the name Harrow with the famous public school which is in the borough, in Harrow on the Hill. The North West London borough has three main towns, Harrow itself, Pinner and Stanmore.

House prices are around the London average. The area has a suburban feel but with some countryside to the north.

Hillingdon

The main population centres in this far-western London borough are Hayes, Ruislip, Northwood, West Drayton and Uxbridge. It is also the least densely populated district – partly because some of its northern tip is rural, and also because it includes Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world.

Properties here are a mix of Victorian and Edwardian homes, terraced houses, flats and apartments – Ickenham, Ruislip and Northwood have plenty of the last two types. Northern Uxbridge is more suburban and a better bet for families.

Hounslow

The major population centres in this west London borough include Chiswick, Isleworth, Brentford, Feltham and Hounslow itself. If you are looking to buy (or improve) a home here, then Hounslow, Feltham and Heston are more affordable than Chiswick and Turnham Green.

If you want to know more about shutters and live in or near Hounslow, the Costco store in Hayes Road has a Shutters Factory stand, which is an easy and convenient way to learn more about us.

Richmond Upon Thames

With a population just under 200,000, this South West London borough includes the towns of Barnes, East Sheen, Mortlake, Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington and Hampton. Twickenham is the home of English rugby union. The borough also contains the world-famous Kew Gardens and Richmond Park.

Plenty of open spaces and parks means it’s one of the most desirable and sought-after areas of London. However, more affordable homes can be found in Mortlake, Ham and Barnes.
